Summit County

HOME EXTERIOR RENOVATION

By working closely with our clients to bring their vision to life, we completed a stunning rustic- themed project in Summit County that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living spaces. The old deck, located outside a bay patio door off the dining room, was deteriorating, and they envisioned a more natural, permanent outdoor retreat with a roof cover for weather protection The challenge was integrating the bay patio door into the design, which we achieved by making it, along with the massive stone-clad concrete steps, a central feature of the space. The result is a cohesive, functional, and visually striking retreat that perfectly meets their needs.

The foundation of the design is a unique Ashlar Cut Slate stamped concrete. Key elements include Provia Drystack Stone pillars, a fireplace, and an island, all complemented by a massive white oak timber f rame with yellow pine decking and ceiling. Built with authentic mortise and tenon craftsmanship, the structure is held together by wooden pegs inscribed with the clients’ names, the crew members’ names, and even the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost creating a potential time capsule for future generations. Additional features include a matching timber mantel, locally sourced sandstone accents, Provia stone caps, strategic lighting, and radiant patio heaters to provide warmth. This project perfectly embodies the rustic elegance John and Andrea envisioned.
